MyMedic highly commended at national awards

MyMedic is celebrating after being highly commended at a national awards ceremony that celebrates the use of technology in the healthcare sector.

The innovative online locum management service was highly commended in the bright idea and innovation award at the People and Partnership Awards run by the Health Tech Newspaper (HTN).

Its sister product Beebo, a standalone specialist platform designed to simplify and automate team administrative and governance processes, was also shortlisted in the bright and idea and innovation category.

Both have been created by paramedics and entrepreneurs Rob Gorringe and Gareth Bennett from their base on Ten Pound Walk, Doncaster.

The MyMedic Network was launched in 2018 in a bid to save the NHS time and money sourcing and managing locum clinicians. The online platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to match registered practitioners to placements that match their qualifications, skills and experience, as well as pre-defined criteria set by the locum including preferred locations of work, their day-to-day availability and holidays.

Gareth Bennett said: “We’re really pleased that MyMedic has been recognised at a national level, particularly as we only launched the product to market less than two years ago. There were some really impressive organisations and projects also nominated in these awards, so it was an honour to be involved and it has given us a really strong platform to build on. This is just the beginning for both MyMedic and Beebo and we are very excited about the future.”
