MyMedic Network secures Cyber Essentials certification

MyMedic Network has been awarded Cyber Essentials certification – a quality assurance standard that proves testimony to the company’s commitment to cyber security.

The accreditation, issued by the National Cyber Security Centre, recognises MyMedic’s ongoing work to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data stored on the organisation’s systems.

Independently verified by a qualified assessor, the certification means MyMedic satisfies a set of five security control criteria: The use of a firewall to secure internet connection; Ensuring the most secure settings are in place for all devices and software; Control of who has access to the company’s data and services; Sufficient protection from malware; and keeping devices and software up to date.

The MyMedic Network was launched in May 2019 by Gareth Bennett and Rob Gorringe – a pair of practicing paramedics who joined in a bid to save the NHS time and money sourcing and managing locum clinicians.  

The online platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to match registered practitioners to placements that match their qualifications, skills and experience, as well as pre-defined criteria set by the locum including preferred locations of work, their day-to-day availability and holidays.
